DAT - Our World

As technicians, we, the people behind this site know first hand the amount of electronics that are thrown away on a daily basis.  With most of our manufacturing going to China, and substandard equipment and electronics being used for the sake of a low price to consumer, the garbage has been piling up, and it's only going to get worse.

As concerned citizens of this planet, we are tired of the MASSIVE destruction of our planet.  Our planet will survive, but it will surely destroy us before it will allow us to destroy it.  Our greed and selfishness has reached an ALL TIME high, and we can no longer be slaves to products, destruction, and not care about our environment.  We are destroying the future for our loved ones, leaving behind a legacy we must all be ashamed of.

We need to take responsibility for our actions.  We need to stop being a 'throw-away' consumer, and do whatever it is we can to properly dispose of our useless electronics.  In addition, we will also educate you on the 'insider' secrets of the electronic manufacturing industry.  It's a lot worse than you think!  However, it all starts with YOU.

We'll offer tips, resources, and what you can do to help.

Greener Guide To ElectronicsAlthough we are still a WORLD OFF on where we should be with Greener Electronics, it's good to know at least some companies are trying.  Unfortunately, it's not enough.  Some DRASTIC changes have to be made among these companies and FAST.

The best option is to CONTACT your favorite electronics manufacturer and let them know you are concerned about our environmental future, and you won't support a company that has no regard for environmental issues and does not take responsibility for their waste which affects our world.

Game System Energy WasteVideo game consoles consume a "staggeringly high" amount of energy, according to a report the Natural Resources Defense Council is releasing on Wednesday. How much electricity do they use each year? About as much as it takes to power the city of San Diego.

There's plenty of room for improvement. We can cut our nation's electricity bill by more than $1 billion and avoid 7 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year, according to the report.

How much can you personally save? Depends on what brand you choose. The Sony Playstation 3 and Microsofts Xbox 360 use as much as nine times more energy than the Nintendo Wii.

LG - Irresponsible TV CommercialsWhen I first saw this commercial, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.  It sums up the way our entire society thinks.  Particularly this country - the throw away nation.  It's our demand for products, technology, and our wasteful nature, that has put us where we are with our environment... on the brink of destruction.  Why?  For a new washer and dryer?  Are you kidding me?

NYC Electronics Recylce ProgramSince our company is based in Brooklyn, NY, we thought we would post information on electronics recycling programs for our area.  If your not located in the New York metro area, and want to do your part in properly recycling your electronic waste, just google the following "Electronics Recycling, Your City, Your state" - at the very least you'll find a private company which will offer a drop off locations.  In the larger metro areas, some private companies will pick up your electronics waste at no cost.
